Refund Policy
This Refund Policy applies to one-time license purchases of Windows desktop applications published by AppKatz Software, a registered trade name of LaunchWizard, LLC.
1. The 14-day free trial
Most of our applications offer a 14-day free trial. The trial requires no credit card and is downloaded directly from each product page. Use the trial to fully evaluate the application: confirm it runs on your hardware, supports the file formats you use, and performs the features you need, before paying for a license. Once you have purchased a license, the purchase is final, subject to the limited exceptions described below.
2. No general refunds
Software is digital and non-returnable in the conventional sense. Once you have purchased a license, we do not offer refunds, exchanges, or credits, except as expressly required by applicable consumer-protection law (see Section 3) or in the limited circumstances described in Sections 4 and 5. Situations in which we do not issue refunds include, without limitation:
- You purchased without using the free trial and afterwards changed your mind
- You discovered after purchase that a feature you needed was not included or did not behave as you expected (the trial would have shown you this)
- Your hardware, operating system, or third-party software is incompatible (the trial would have revealed this)
- You no longer need the application or your circumstances changed
- Someone with access to your payment method or device made the purchase, where the use of your payment method was authorized
3. Statutory consumer-protection rights
Nothing in this Policy limits any non-waivable consumer-protection rights you may have under the law of your country, state, or province of residence. Examples (non-exhaustive):
- EU / UK consumers generally have a 14-day right of withdrawal for online purchases of digital content under the Consumer Rights Directive / UK Consumer Contracts Regulations. This right may be limited or excluded for digital content where you have expressly consented to immediate delivery and acknowledged the loss of the right of withdrawal at checkout.
- Australian consumers have non-excludable rights under the Australian Consumer Law where products are not of acceptable quality or do not match their description.
- Other jurisdictions may grant similar rights.
If you believe you are entitled to a refund under applicable consumer-protection law, contact us at [email protected] with the email address you used at checkout, your Stripe transaction ID or receipt number, the application name, and the specific legal basis for your request. We will respond and, where the request is valid under applicable law, process the refund accordingly.
4. Defective software
If an application has a defect that prevents it from being used for its intended purpose and we are unable to provide a fix or workaround within a reasonable time, we may, at our discretion, offer a refund. This is offered as a goodwill gesture in addition to whatever rights you have under applicable consumer-protection law. To request a goodwill refund of this kind, contact [email protected] with details of the issue and the troubleshooting steps you have already tried.
5. Duplicate charges, billing errors, and unauthorized charges
If you see a duplicate charge, an unauthorized charge, or another billing error, contact [email protected] promptly with details (transaction ID, date, amount, and the email address used at checkout). We will investigate and, where we identify a billing error or an unauthorized charge, correct it. This Section 5 is not a substitute for the trial-then-buy workflow described in Section 1. It covers genuine billing problems, not buyer's remorse.
6. How approved refunds are processed
Where a refund is required by applicable consumer-protection law (Section 3), or offered at our discretion for a defect (Section 4) or a billing error (Section 5), the refund is issued to the original payment method via Stripe. Stripe typically returns the funds to your card or account within 5–10 business days, though some banks may take longer. We do not issue refunds in cash, by check, as store credit, or to an alternative payment method.
When we issue a refund, the corresponding license is revoked. You agree to uninstall the application and stop using any associated license keys.
7. Subscription services and third-party fees
Our applications are sold as one-time purchases, not subscriptions. Some applications integrate with third-party services that charge their own fees (for example, OpenAI-compatible AI providers, SendGrid). Those third-party fees are billed directly by the provider and are not refundable through us under any circumstances; you must address them directly with the provider.
8. Chargebacks
If you have a billing concern, please contact us first. Most issues are resolved quickly. Initiating a chargeback before contacting us, or as a way to obtain a refund outside the terms of this Policy, may result in suspension of any associated licenses and may be reported to Stripe as part of their fraud-prevention systems.
9. Changes
We may update this Refund Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of the page will reflect any changes. Changes apply to purchases made on or after the effective date.
